BALTIMORE HOOP LOVE
Circus Farm Tour & Hoop Making Workshop

Take a walking tour of Circus Farm, a local urban farm run on a less-than-an-acre plot by Baltimore Hoop Love founders, Andreas “Spilly” Spilladis and Jes Raschella. The tour will include plant identification picking and tastings, as well as a lecture. Circus Farm is a project where audience participation in circus arts becomes a forum for conversations about healthy food choices and urban farming. The tour will end with a hula hoop construction activitiy and a vegetarian meal prepared from ingredients harvested on the farm. Each participant will take home their hoop.

BALTIMORE JAZZ ALLIANCE
Jazz for Kids

A fun introduction to jazz for elementary school children featuring jazz versions of well-known children’s songs played by BJA’s five piece band and encouraging audience participation. Children will have the opportunity to try several musical instruments.

BALTIMORE MUSEUM OF INDUSTRY
Free admission every Sunday in October

From food canning to broadcasting, visitors can interact with the technologies which forged the Industrial Revolution and brought us to the 21st century. Step into vividly-recreated workshops on machining, printing, garment-making and metalworking. Visitors can borrow iPods for self-guided tours of the exhibits and touchboxes throughout the museum give kids more information about Baltimore’s printing, shipping, canning, transportation and garment industries.

BALTIMORE TALENT EDUCATION CENTER
Strum & Git Guitar Day

Baltimore Talent Education Center (BTEC) offers a full day of musical experiences built around their successful guitar program. The celebration includes performances by current students, BTEC alumni and professional musicians, workshops on strumming techniques, instrument repair and refresh with free access to tools, replacement strings, etc. for all string instruments and beginner class demos.

BLACK CHERRY PUPPET THEATER
Puppets in the Garden

Black Cherry Puppet Theater will host three events on three consecutive Sundays in October, showcasing performances from some of the finest puppeteers from Baltimore and the region. The events will feature puppet-making workshops, giving participants the opportunity to create their own puppets and become puppeteers themselves.
